She has worked in many different ecosystems, but coastal and wetland ecology has been a common theme throughout. A native of TN, she gained her BS at the University of Tennessee, an MS at Mississippi State University looking at Double-crested Cormorant colony effects on islands within Guntersville Reservoir, and a PhD at Louisiana State University quantifying abundance and distribution of secretive marsh birds in Southeastern Louisiana.
